UTM MIXED-GENDER RESIDENCE

UTM offers mix-gender and same-gender housing options​. Mixed-gender housing is available for all students, including those who feel that their gender identity or gender expression is not represented in the traditional male and female housing arrangements that are typical of most campuses.

NELLIE'S shelter

Embrave

Provides peer support, education, programming, emergency shelter, and transitional housing support for all women and children seeking support for any reason (poverty, violence, etc). If there is no space, referrals to other shelters will be provided. ​
Visit
Embrave offers community outreach and supports, counselling services, and 24-hour emergency shelters for eligible persons of whom include all women and LGBTQ2+ folk who are 16 years of age and older at risk of experiencing any form of violence.

FRIENDS OF RUBY

Friends of Ruby offer both drop-in, and registration-based mental health services (including individual counselling and group sessions), case management and practical supports (employment, housing), transitional housing, and other programs and services for LGBTQ+ youth (aged 16-29).

The 519 serves the GTA and offers COUNTLESS programming for LGBTQ+ community. They’re housing services are currently paused until further notice, but they offer a great list of housing resources that trans users have expressed to feel safer accessing

Offers a variety of housing programs including emergency, transitional, residential homes, and specific housing support provided to survivors of human trafficking. Their Nightstop Program provides a safety net for those forced to leave their homes.
